$1,000 kick-start

The $1,000 kick-start payment was a tax-free Government contribution made to all KiwiSaver members who joined before 2pm, 21 May 2015.

If you were eligible for the kick-start you can access the payment when making a withdrawal for:

• moving overseas permanently
• serious illness

But you can’t access the payment when making a withdrawal for:

• buying your first home
• significant financial hardship
